For the holiday Miya and I went to Zambia. I had wanted to go to Zambia for the last 2 years and finally found someone to go with me. We went to Kafue National part. We arrived in Lusaka, tha capitol and it took forever to get through passport control. We met up with the car service that was to take us to the lodge. OMG, it was the slowed drive ever. It should have taken about 4 hours and it took over 7. The lodge had people waiting at the ferry to take us over the river and they finally went back to thelodge. I think it was after 10pm when we got there. We had to wake the people up to take us across. They weren't happy and either was I. The guy went so slow, I think the people on bikes were going faster. We got to the lodge and they gave us something to eat and off we went to bed. We did game drives mostly and a boat cruise. In the afternoons, David would take me birding and Ruben would take Miya to the hot spring. On day David and Joe took me on a walk, I thought it was just going to be around the lodge looking for the turico but we hiked up Leopard hill. On another afternoon he took me on a little canoe type boat to look for the finfoot. It was a bit scarey in the little boat with the hippos but David was great. He was my favorite person in the lodge. He is learning to be a guide. Elise, whose family owns the lodge was teh best host. She was so nice. I had such a good time there, I would love to go back. The trip back on the road was just as slow even with one of the other guests telling them that they had to go faster. He didn't. Luckily, the lodge is getting another car for transporting guests back and forth from Lusaka. If I had to go with the slow man again, I would rent a car and drive myself.
